September 17, 2026 — Classic Reimagined map & The Hunt

Roblox’s 20th anniversary event The Hunt: Roblox 20 featured Apocalypse Rising 2 as the 2013 challenge experience. Dualpoint brought back a classic Reimagined Apocalypse Rising 1-style map so new and returning players could taste the original layout with modern AR2 systems.

Highlights players care about:

• Classic Reimagined playlist selectable from the Home screen; vanilla archipelago remains on another Home panel (Dualpoint notes the 4th panel for vanilla).
• Mobile support emphasized on the Reimagined map for Hunt traffic.
• Classic weapon skin pack, Follow Friend quality-of-life (teleport to friends in either playlist), and limited Trinity cosmetics (beret, blue/red camo, Reimagined vests).
• In-experience Hunt quests (equip loot set, zombie hunter goals, explore / survive distance and day-night beats) feeding the broader Hunt hub rewards such as the Biting BLOXikin track.

August 13, 2026 — Soviet Takeover

Soviet armed forces take over Salem in a timed takeover-style event. Full breakdown: Soviet Takeover.

Headline features from the patch:

• Sensitivity settings refreshed for everyone—use Look Sensitivity and Aiming Sensitivity under Camera; FOV scaling bugs fixed.
• AN-94 assault rifle added as a limited event firearm.
• Locked event structure in Salem that needs a carried event Key; loot inside generates after the door opens; each Key is consumed; door stays open for a window before reset.
• Limited Soviet Repurposed Cargo Van, plus lasting Soviet AI-2 Medkits, Afghanka caps, Kolobok (56) and Assault (40) backpacks in controlled locations.
• Vehicle handbrake, quick-transfer into vehicle storage, instant ammo transfers / Spread Ammo / Unload Ammo, and Jump Fatigue in combat.

Takeover events are designed as short rotations. If you are reading this after the window closed, the AN-94 and Salem structure may be unavailable until Dualpoint reruns or converts the content. Farm while live, then return to baseline loot routes, vehicles, and the weapon tier list. Salem geography sits on Map Locations.

May 1–15, 2026 — Console support & starter kits

Console launch (May 1)

• Xbox consoles and PlayStation 5 supported.
• Basic controller support ships; keyboard and mouse still recommended for precision gunplay.
• PlayStation 4 is not supported due to platform limitations.

Cross-play realities and UI prompts can differ by device—check in-game settings after your first console boot. Competitive players on controller may prefer lower-recoil carbines from the tier list.

Starter Kit gamepasses (May 15)

Dualpoint added four spawn kits—Bandit (250), Survivalist (400), Hunter (500), Veteran (500)—joining earlier 2x Infected Loot (500) and Premium Hair (75) passes. June–July 2026 — The Drying

The Drying is AR2’s recurring summer desert transformation: dead grass, sand, lower sea levels, and Desert Militia fantasy layered onto the archipelago. The 2026 run continued the tradition with:

• Dozens of limited cosmetics (Tan Pantera, Soviet vest variants, gas mask / pilot headset variants, Night Camo Boonie, Western ponchos and clothing, and more).
• Desert Militia points of interest such as Oasis / drained crater themes, Tango, Crawler, Hydroponics-style sites depending on that year’s layout.
• Loot rebalance notes players tracked heavily—high-tier density shifts away from some northern staples, new radio receivers for militia/Soviet pings, and seasonal exclusive weapons historically tied to Drying (for example Trooper M1919A6 in prior years).

If you are bootstrapping after Drying ends, expect some cosmetics to become unobtainable until a future summer. Keep a screenshot checklist during the event; do not trust random “Drying codes” on the Codes Hub—there are none. Wardrobe systems overall are documented on Cosmetics.

What to do after any big patch

1. Skim Dualpoint Discord patch notes for hotfixes that land days after the headline update.
2. Re-verify special Infected spawns on special weapons and Infected—events move elites.
3. Rebuild a starter route with getting started if the Home UI or map playlist changed.
4. Re-learn vehicle stops and handbrake habits on Vehicles after Soviet Takeover QoL.
5. Avoid “update scripts” that claim to auto-complete Hunt quests; they ban accounts—see Scripts.
